4 digital camera essentials

I’ve had a lot of different cameras, but nothing compares to my little Canon Powershot when going out or just hanging with friends. However, when buying a digital camera, there are some things that you MUST have for the best digi experience.

1) SD card reader for USB-C: AMAZON

- Most Macbooks don’t have SD card readers anymore, so you need this to upload your photos!

- Also has micro SD port and USB port

2) Extra batteries: AMAZON

- If you’re planning on taking a lot of pictures in one day, extra batteries are needed for when you’ve been snapping pics all day

- These are usually pretty cheap (depending on which camera you have) and usually come with 3

3) SD Card: AMAZON, TARGET, WALGREENS, etc.

- Need to hold the actual photos!

- My camera is only compatible with 32gb and 8gb SD cards, so make sure to check when you get your camera!

4) LIGHTROOM: ADOBE SUBSCRIPTION

- It’s a bit pricey, but a lot of high schools and universities allow you to use the entire Adobe Creative Suite for free! (both my high school and university provide this service)

- Can edit your photos to look like film or just bring out certain colors

- Can play around with presets (there are a lot of free ones online)

*My camera is a Canon PowerShot SD1200 IS Digital ELPH. It’s a pretty old model, but it still works really well. I recommend finding an older model of a digital camera online because it’s cheaper and works just as well as the pricey ones.
