How I Saved Money in College!

College can be so expensive! I chose to go to a college out-of-state, which made it even more expensive. Here are some ways I cut costs in college:

1. I was an RA my junior and senior year. This choice saved me tens of thousands of dollars! I got free room and board and a significant food plan discount. I also thought it was more convenient to be an RA. Off-campus housing was 1-2 miles away from campus, so on-campus housing was more convenient for getting to class. Additional benefits are, that I made lifelong friends while being an RA and it was a great resume booster post-grad!

2. I utilized student discounts for fun activities all the time! When you’re a student so many places have a discount for you. I’d use my student ID for movies, restaurants, and sporting events at the university.
