New #DateIdeas alert! The National Museum of Singapore has a few new exhibitions and one of them has been stealing the limelight for having the retired T2 departures board 👀 If you’re thinking of heading down, here’s what you need to know…

Now Boarding: Experiencing Singapore Through Travel 1800s - 2000s

🕐 10am - 7pm daily, until 19 Nov 2023

💲free for Singaporeans!

✨ THE TRUTH ✨ or I guess what I didn’t like…

I just wanted to start off with the glaringly obvious facts about this exhibit…

• The departure board is not inside the exhibit, it’s placed at the entrance of the museum so on a busy day it’s likely going to be hard to get pictures

• The exhibit is pretty small so you likely won’t spend too much time in it, I did hope that there would be more sections!

• Small space also means it’ll be crowded quickly: I went on a weekday so there wasn’t a ton of people but it definitely won’t be enjoyable with a big crowd on weekends

• Not very interactive: I was okay with this actually because me and my partner still enjoy just walking around and reading up but if you prefer interactive experiences then this is not for u!

✨What I Liked✨

• It was pretty interesting! Exhibitions are slowly starting to include more of the 2000s so it was quite strange yet nostalgic to see things we remember from our childhood blend together with other things from before we were born (this one covered 1800s - 2000s!)

• There are different sections in the exhibit covering transport, hotels, menus, nightlife etc and some even had the actual items from the past which was cool to see

• You can send a postcard: if you make a donation (min $2) you can send a postcard! It’s prepaid and you can send it locally/overseas :) the postcards & pens are prepared and there is a little ledge for you to write on — a cute activity to do with whoever you’re going with

• Visually appealing: I did feel that the exhibit looked really good and the colours chosen for the different sections made the exhibit as a whole feel exciting in a way

Overall I would say it’s #WorthIt if it isn’t that crowded and if you don’t mind it being not so interactive! I did have fun at the exhibit but didn’t spend a lot of time there just because it wasn’t very big :)
