Sour Cream and Chive Chicken with Mashed Potatoes

This is the very first meal. I made my husband after we got married and now 28 years later, I’m making it for my kids.

4 cups Italian seasoned bread crumbs

1 1/2 T salt, divided

1 1/1 T black pepper, divided

1 T onion powder

1 T smoked paprika

2 cups salted butter, melted

1 (5 pound) whole chicken, cut into sections

8 medium vadalia onions cut into halves

1 (5 pound) bag yellow potatoes , cooked & mashed

1 cup salted butter

1 cup flour

4 cups chicken broth

2 cups heavy cream

1 8-ounce) container sour cream

1 bunch chives, chopped

Bake at 400 for 45 minutes
