If you’re heading to Chongqing soon, this is the ultimate itinerary for you! I recently went during summer, and I gotta say - the weather in China during was no joke… 🥵 It’s best to visit during other seasons as the weather there during summer was even hotter than Singapore! 🙅🏻‍♀️

👉🏻 Here’s what we did on the 5D4N trip:

0️⃣ Day 0: Check in and explore Jiefangbei

- Paid about S$50/pax each night for this beautiful Roosevelt service apartment with GORGEOUS city views 🏙️

- Went to Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street for some street food since we landed around 10pm 😋

1️⃣ Day 1: Ciqikou & Kuixinglou

- Explored the old town Ciqikou, Chongqing, which reminded me of Taipei’s Jiufen. Also caught the iconic Chongqing 1949 Musical, which was pretty impressive as the setup was insane and the whole stage could rotate 360! 🤩

- Had our first hotpot lunch at Guaxixi Hot Pot, where we stuffed our bellies full but were thankful they offered non-spicy broth cos I can’t take spice 😓

- Popped by Kuixing Building which was quite trippy cos the first level of a building is actually the 22nd level of the street! Ngl, it was quite scary to look down from the 22nd level when we were there 🫣

- Ended the night at Esmi Club, a kinda new and pops club, which was quite an experience for us as there was no dance floor 🤔

2️⃣ Day 2: Mountain City & Hongyadong

- Started the day a bit late since we were recovering from hangover from the previous night LOL but made a visit to 山城步道, which had quite similar vibes to Ciqikou, except that it came with many steps to climb 🥵

- Decided to rest our bodies and check out one of China’s wellness centres, Yunbo Spa, where we paid about S$36 for a 70 mins massage but could stay for as long as we wanted after that, with unlimited food and TV entertainment 😌

- Ended the night visiting one of Chongqing’s iconic tourist attraction Chongqing Hongyadong (Northwest Gate)where it was SO crowded and we were squeezing with everyone’s sweaty bodies. NOT worth visiting and we left after taking the picture 📸

3️⃣ Day 3: Day Trip to Fairy Mountain & Wulong Karst

- Booked a day trip through Taobao to see some nature at Xiannvshan (Fairy Mountain) which was pretty cooling and peaceful as it was a wide space of greenery and we got to see some cows 🐮

- The tour guide then took us to the next spot where we had a mini hike at Wulong Mountain, which was pretty cool to see so many gigantic rock formations. Wulong is also the filming location of Transformer IV, as well as one of the movie Jay Chou was in! 😱

- Went back to the city and had one of the best meals I’ve had in Chongqing, at Guoqiang Beef, which was so unassuming but SO GOOD & HEARTY 😮‍💨

4️⃣ Day 4: Exploring Testbed 2 & Guanyinqiao

- Decided to have a chill last day and went to check out a hipster area Erchang Culture and Creative Park, where every spot is so IG worthy 💖

- While exploring Testbed 2, my friend also had a tarot card reading (which he felt was pretty true) but it was pretty underwhelming as the tarot card reader wasn’t very engaging 😬

- Also visited a cat cafe to escape from the heat outside and the aircon was MUCH needed 🥶

- Ending our trip at Guanyinqiao, where we had some delish bakes (you MUST get the egg tarts if you see them) and bought back some local souvenirs for fam and friends 😎

And that’s all for our 5D4N trip to Chongqing! It was a pretty good trip overall (minus the heat) and I would LOVE to visit other parts of China (like Yunnan or Harbin) in future! 😜

Leave a comment/PM me if you have any questions and I’ll definitely answer them if I can! 👌🏻
