Our experience taking a photoshoot in Bali✨

Hey! We’re excited to be sharing our first minor step that we took for our wedding in 2025! 🤭

We planned for a holiday in November 2023 to Bali and I suggested to take a casual photoshoot together (though we didn’t have a confirmed wedding plan that time) so we could maximise our trip!

Here’s to sharing our experience and some factors:

1. Photoshoot inspirations ✨

It is important to browse through different photographers on Instagram to see your favourite style of photographs and if there is any specific things you want in your photos (eg. having smoke bombs, horses, lamps, etc.)

2. Location 📍

After having some inspirations, you can look into where you would like your photos taken (eg. beach, waterfall, rice field, black lava, etc.) we took our photos at

3. Outfits

We choose to not take our photos in a typical wedding dress so that we could use the photos for different purposes and we could be more relax and chill! We prepared 2 different outfits for 2 locations! We really like how the photos turned out when we wore black at the beach as it gives off a different vibe🙌🏼

4. Make-up and Flowers💐

MUAs are quite affordable in Bali as compared to SG, however, I decided to do a simple make-up on myself as it was pretty casual!

For my bouquet of flowers, I enquired La Doux Florist on Instagram. I sent them photo inspirations I found on Pinterest and they quoted me a price from there. Their service was amazing as I had to leave 5am for my morning shoot and they delivered to my hotel at 4am🥲

5. Factors to consider🤔

Thinking back, I would have done my photoshoot in the month of May-Aug as it was rainy season when we were there🫠 The photos at the beach would be prettier with a pretty sunset but we had a very gloomy sky.

Remember to check the locations of your shoot and plan it wisely as the journey from one place to another could be very long due to the bad jam in Bali😓 We would recommend getting a driver as some places can be hard finding a Grab/Gojek!

Overall 5/5⭐️ Experience:

We had an enjoyable shoot with our photographer and the photos turned out really out of our expectations! The price was reasonable and it was less awkward as I imagined it to be☺️
