🍋🥚 Pastel de Nata: Portugal’s Favorite Pastry

I’ve been missing my pastel de nata + espresso breakfasts in Portugal so I thought I’d try to make them myself. It was my first time working with puff pastry and making a custard so my first attempt wasn’t greatttt…

But after trying again the results were so tasty and brought me right back to the Algarve Coast. Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:

• 6 egg yolks 🥚

• 1 1/2 cup milk

• 1/3 cup flour

• 1 1/3 cup sugar

• 1/3 cup water💧

• 1 sheet of puff pastry

• a lemon 🍋

• a cinnamon stick
