Yaowarat Thai Kway Chap (Serangoon)

I tried Yaowarat in the past, and to be honest I didn’t love it, however, trying it again recently made me change my mind about the place!

More than just thai kway chap, Yaowarat offers a comprehensive number of side dishes and a cosy location for late night suppers with your besties 🥰

The food has definitely improved so much since the last time, and every dish is easily my favourite 🤩 and I now have a treasured memory with my husband and my bestie (2 of my favourite people in this world ☺️) !!!

MUST-TRYs: this was how much we had for 3 pax, and we werent even that hungry, just goes to show how tasty and amazing it was!

❤️ Braised Tofu

Literally mindblowing, I love the texture and how much sauce each slice soaks up! I love braised tofu, and this place is really THE best I have tried !!

🤩 Thai Mid Wings

Super crispy and deep-fried, each bite is a crunch into a juicy tender chicken 👍 also the mid wings, I didnt know this, but its split into 2 from a normal chicken wing, to make it EXXTTRRRAAA crispy ✨✨

🤤 Thai Fish Sausage

I LOOVE LOOVVEE THIS DISH! but if im completely honest… There is another place that does this better, so much more crispy at the edges with a soft, delicious bite 🔥

🤩 Stir-fried Cabbage (w fish sauce)

Juicy, salty, tasty. Hits all the right spots without being tooooo oily ! Is like 手撕包菜, except without the overly oily texture! Delicious and so good w rice 💕

❤️ Deep-fried Thai Pork Belly

yummmzzzz 🤤 hubby loves a good pork belly and I enjoyed the ultra crispy skin on the pork belly. This crispiness is consistent for all slices which made the experience really good! No soggy skins 💕

✅ Plain Kway Chap

AHHHHH, How to say this, but I don’t love it 🥹 I know that they are known for their kway chap, and my bestie LOOOVES it, but I just personally don’t like kway chap in general… like bak kut teh without the meat fragrance 😭 But is a tasty soup (if I did love it) 🥺

Waaaa so sweet and a guilty pleasure 🔥 Always delicious no matter the store, but such a good compliment for all these dishes ✅
