Mistakes = 💸💸💸💸

First time home ownership can be so exciting but also scary. So many fancy ideas all feasible at a slight top-up 💲

Almost 6 years down the journey of home ownership, I actually do regret some of my decisions:

1️⃣ Venetian Blinds over curtains

Blinds can’t really keep all the light out. For someone that needs to sleep in total darkness (and often have migraine that makes me sensitive to lights), blinds don’t work.

Blinds are extremely time consuming to clean. It’s almost cleaning it piece by piece.

So, I have since changed to day and night curtains. 💸💸

2️⃣ False ceiling (for lights and to hide my aircon piping)

Not kidding! But a hole appeared out of the sudden on false ceiling, and I worry if it is aircon pipe condensation… True enough it is! Although my aircon service company helped to patch up the hole temporary, he said if it didn’t work, I might have to hack away the false ceiling AND change the aircon piping! 💸💸💸💸💸

3️⃣ Choice of metal gates

Yes, I changed my HDB gate, and…….. it rusted. There must be some truth to choosing wisely especially when you get some wind and live near the sea. Did the “salty” wind cause my gate to rust? Well, the gate still works but it just don’t look nice….
