Off the beaten trail - Yinhe Cave in Taipei

Yinhe Cave can be reached via the Yinhe Cave Hiking Trail and it is a relatively easy climb offering magical views with a waterfall and a temple built into a cave.

From the trailhead, follow the directions and climb a series of stairs to reach the cave. It took us about 15 minutes with multiple rest and photo breaks in between. Based on google reviews, the cave is only open on weekends so be sure to go on the correct days.

After visiting the cave, you can either choose to walk the same way back down or continue on to Maokong for some tea and snacks. It’s another 2km up with relatively easy and flat trails and can be completed in an hour at a leisurely pace.
