Dear me,

There was once upon a time where I hated you. I hated everything about you. Why? Because I went years of hearing from others that you were not good enough, pretty enough, smart enough. I heard it enough times where I finally believed it.

But today, I am on a self-love journey where I am trying to learn how to love you in the right way. I am learning how to love the things other people tried to tell me weren’t beautiful. I was bullied for my dark skin. I was told my big eyes and lips weren’t pretty or appealing. Now I love them and embrace them.

I love you and I will never live for others options but yours now.
