Make The “Big Sibling” Transition Easier:

A few things that made our firstborn transition well into his role as big brother: 😌👦🏽🫶

1. Allowed him time to snuggle/hold (while supervised) his baby sister. He looked forward to this and it helped him bond.

2. Include your older child in EVERYTHING. Picking out clothes/grabbing a diaper/rubbing baby sister’s back to help fall asleep.

3. Never blame the baby—this can cause resentment (quickly). Keep your reasons for not being able to do certain things at certain times very vague. Offer alternatives—or again, INVITE them to help you.
