Douyin Trending Street Food at Tamp Pasar Malam?!?

I have always seen Tampines Pasar Malam but I never actually went there to try the food! After trying it, I found a dish that I always saw on Douyin!!! It’s called 烤冷面 Grilled Cold Noodles.

These are the foods that I tried:

Store 1: 光头佬 (pic 2 & 5)

冷腌串串Cold Marinated Chuan Chuan:

* Try to choose those fully coated in sauce and ask for more sauce.

* The sauce is well marinated but it’s at room temperature (not cold or hot).

烤冷面 Grilled Cold Noodles: $8

4.9/5 ⭐️

* I always see this dish on Douyin !! Always wanted to try this! And I would say it’s the best dish out of all the food I tried!!!

* - 0.1⭐️ cause it’s a bit expensive or else it’s 5/5 ⭐️ (it’s a hot dish btw)

Store 2: 臭豆腐 Vegetarian Fried Stinky Tofu

Signature Non-Spicy Five Spices Sauce Dry $6 small (I think)

* Doesn’t smell smelly but once you bite on it you know.

* The lady told me that number 4 is 大辣 Big Spicy, number 3 is 小辣 Small Spicy.

* Mine is super fragrant and not spicy.

Store 3: Beef Cube

Cheese Beef Cube $12

1/5 ⭐️

* I don’t think I’m able to choose doneness as the staff did not ask.

* Overcooked - well done

* Ordered cheesy beef but got cheese beef instead.

* More saucy than a normal beef cube & not worth the price.

Shark Fin Soup $4

3/5 ⭐️

* Won't go wrong with the basics.

Store 4: 卜卜脆 Bok Bok Cui

Potato Rosti $3

3/5 ⭐️

* Super crispy outside and soft inside

* Tasteless / Bland but because I asked for lesser spices I thought that it’s spicy. Maybe just stick with what they give.

Store 5: 暴打ling檬BUNG! LEMON TEA

Bitter gourd Hand Smashed Lemon Tea $3.5

3.8/5 ⭐️

* I’m not a fan of bitter ground but it doesn’t have the taste of it unless you eat the bitter gourd bits inside.

* Very refreshing especially since it’s really hot there!

* The staff hand-smashed and shook every single cup, ain’t joking 🙃

Store 6: 胖嘟嘟 CHUBTUTU

Traditional Flavours - Chocolate 5 for $3.50

4/5 ⭐️

* I don’t think traditional tutukueh will go wrong. - 1 ⭐️ because mixing the flavors will have to add $0.50. 🥲

* They have exotic and funky flavors like Sakura, Chilli Crab, Lobster Salad, Yuzu Sesame Salmon and more.

* Prices range up to $6.50 for those unique flavors.

Store 7: 拉丝金币 Golden Coin Cake

Korean Coin - Cheese Flavour $8

1/5 ⭐️

* Ordered it before seeing the price 🥲 Super Duper Expensive!!!!

* Taste like a fluffy pancake with cheese but is not worth $8

* Same vendor as the Beef Cube.

There are a few other foods I would like to try but it’s SOLD OUT or when I’m too full!

* 手打虾滑 - Handmade / beaten Prawn Paste. $7

* 河南胡辣汤 - He Nan Pepper Spicy Soup

* 烤大鱿鱼- Grilled Big Squid $8

* All the Taiwanese chicken and Mee sua
