Before You Go Here…Save this ✈️ 💡

I had the pleasure of visiting El Salvador a while ago, and I had to find out about certain stuff after landing lol. Here’s some tips so you don’t go through the same thing I did:

👉 Upon landing, before getting to immigration, I had to pay $12 for a tourist visa (even if you’re staying 1 night or 10). You can do this online ahead of time, but of course I wasn’t aware of it and had to do so at the desk.

👉 Explore yourself! Usually I book experiences on Airbnb or Tripadvisor/Viator, but as a solo traveler, this country is not priced realistically for 1 person groups. If you put “1 guest” instead of two on Trip Advisor, for example, the prices rise 20-100%! Put together your own itinerary and save soooo much $$$.

👉 El Salvador has a population of 3.5 million people, with 300K in San Salvador alone, the traffic is absolutely terrible. Try to do your activities early and get back by 3-4pm! After that, walking is your best bet.
