Things NOT to do while Traveling🚫: Part 2

After traveling around the world and experiencing so many different people + situations, here is my series of what NOT to do while traveling 👇🏽🙅🏽‍♀️

🚫1. BEING LOUD

People in other countries literally can spot out Americans traveling just by how loud they are. Not only does it make you stick out, but it is impolite. In places like the train in Tokyo, it is a common courtesy to whisper or be silent when sharing a public space. This means not talking on your phone or carrying on with your travel mates loudly. Do this simple thing and your travel experience will be so much better for all.

🚫2. HAGGLE OR NEGOTIATE

Guys, this is so tacky. People in other countries, especially places like Egypt, Indonesia and South America are just trying to feed their families. I have seen travelers trying to haggle $15 USD to $10 USD😒 Please just pay your fee/cost. If you know you may be traveling on a budget, do research ahead of time and budget for souvenirs/other expenses (uber eats, freelance work, etc).

🚫3. DRESS INAPPROPRIATELY IN RELIGIOUS PLACES

When traveling overseas, it common historic churches in Italy and Muslim Mosques are popular attractions. Be sure to be aware you will have to dress modestly- covering your legs, cleavage, and possibly shoulders. Do not be difficult- please just coverage up and/bring layers then take them off after leaving.
