In Poly, there's 1 statement that I hate to listen

Hello y'all, it's been awhile since I last posted. Time for me to rant about this. First of all, my cGPA of 3.88 is by no means impressive but it irritates the hell out of me when I'm grouped with people who just don't want to do their work. And hear me out:

I find the statement, "You can't choose who you want to work with in the future. You have to learn to work with other people," deeply frustrating for several reasons. Firstly, it negatively impacts my GPA, which is a crucial factor in my academic and professional future. When I'm forced to collaborate with individuals who are less capable, less motivated, or less invested in their grades, the quality of our collective work inevitably suffers. This scenario often means I end up shouldering a disproportionate amount of the workload, not only to meet my personal standards but also to compensate for the lack of contribution from others. Consequently, I have to work significantly harder to maintain my GPA, which could be achieved with much less effort if I were able to select teammates who are equally dedicated, competent, and grade-conscious.

Furthermore, the notion that I have to adapt to working with anyone, regardless of their competence or commitment, seems inherently flawed. While I understand the value of developing teamwork and collaboration skills, it is unrealistic to ignore the fact that in professional settings, people often do have some degree of choice or influence over their collaborators. Additionally, consistently being paired with less motivated individuals can lead to burnout and diminish my enthusiasm for the subject matter. It’s unfair to impose such a burden, as it places an unnecessary and disproportionate strain on my academic performance and overall well-being. Thus, being compelled to work with less capable teammates not only hampers my immediate academic success but also undermines my long-term educational and professional aspirations.
