Another month of disappointment. Last night, I asked my husband if he thinks we will ever be able to conceive naturally. He says yes and to have faith and to not think so much about it. I then ask him how do I not think so much about it when I am going through all the physical changes every single month such as cramps, spotting, period, testing for LH etc. Might be the hormones talking but I feel like as girls, it’s not easy to not think about it because we are literally going through it every single month. Nonetheless, I know where he is coming from and not thinking too much is his trusty coping mechanism and sometimes I do appreciate that aspect of him too.

On another note, my husband has completed his semen analysis test. The results came out normal and we are so thankful for that. At the same time I wonder, could I be the one with the underlying issue that I am not aware of? For females, there are so many tests for us to undergo and it’s not easy to get an appointment fast. It is indeed a wait game while we keep trying naturally on our end.

Here is my husband’s journey (and the cost) so far:

5 Aug 2024 - got a referral from the polyclinic ($16.30)

28 Aug 2024 - Urology appointment at SGH ($61)

6 Sep 2024 - Semen analysis test at SGH ($85.20)

Here is my journey (and the cost) so far:

8 Aug 2024 - got a referral from the polyclinic ($16.30)

25 Sep 2024 - Gynaecology appointment at SGH ($61)

Total thus far for both of us: $239.80

I am beyond beyond grateful for govt subsidies in this journey. I mean just look at how much consultation alone would’ve costed without subsides 😅.

Awaiting for my period to come now to give SGH a call to make an appointment for the blood tests and scans that needs to happen between day 2 to day 4 of period. Tho I’m not a fan of needles, I find that looking away while closing my eyes tightly helps.

And to all the others that are also on this similar journey, you are not alone too. There are months/days that I truly want to just heck it and give up but at the same time, I am not willing to just give it all up. It’s like playing tug of war with myself 😭. We’ve got this! And to those who were successful in this journey, please share your tips and experiences! Other than doctor Google, I find that this is a life stage that none of my family and friends are at so I don’t exactly have someone to talk about this 😅.
