The rule of 5!

When gifting our kids Christmas gifts we try to stick to the rule of 5! If you don’t know it… here it is! 👇🏼

1. Something to Wear- When I think of what gifts to give our kids I try to think of something they might need. Usually that includes something to wear! Maybe it’s a new shirt, jacket, or jeans.

2. Something to Read- Reading is so good for the little brain and we try to help our kids enjoy reading. Gifting them a book or something to read makes it exciting!

3. Something to Do- A new game or toy makes the day even more fun for most kids! I know so often as parents we feel like our kids have so many things… but a new toy is always a great idea!

We love the idea of one thing in, one thing out. We do a toy purge before the holidays to make room for any new toys we might get!

4. Something they Need- This could be something like sport equipment, a hobby item, a or any other necessity.

5. Something they Want- Generally this will be the big ticket item for Christmas!

Maybe concert tickets or a big lego set…
