My first postpartum experience wasn’t the best, but it wasn’t the worst. I was definitely depleted and my mood wasn’t very stable.

The 2nd time around, I thrived because I was much more prepared and informed! In about 2 months I will experience my 3rd postpartum and I plan on doing all of these things again for an amazing postpartum!

1. Avoid long fasting periods: Especially in the mornings and between meals. Start with a balanced pre-breakfast after waking up (prepare something ahead when mornings are hectic), followed by a protein-rich breakfast and plenty of snacks, including a bedtime snack!

2. Sunlight Exposure: Get as much sunlight or natural light as possible, especially in the mornings to benefit your hormonal and thyroid health.

3. Grounding: Spend time in nature grounding your body. This means bare feet to the earth!

4. Balanced Meals: Make sure your meals and snacks are always blood sugar-balanced, consuming lots of protein (at least 120 g a day) and nourishing saturated fats and cholesterol, and overall eating enough calories!

5. Mineral Intake: Focus on your mineral intake as these are directly improving your mental wellbeing. I like bone broth, mineral drops/ electrolytes, raw milk, and adrenal cocktails.

6. Prioritizing Sleep: Make sleep a priority by going to bed extra early to maximize rest between these waking hours, and turn off devices at night to avoid disrupting your circadian rhythm.

I also prioritized nourishment during pregnancy and had a beautiful home birth experience- which is all definitely a foundation of how you feel during postpartum!
