Minnesota State Fair ✨🎡🎠

“The Great Minnesota Get Together”.

That’s what we call the fair, here in Minnesota! I grew up going to the fair almost every year, and after moving out of the state at 18, have only been back a handful of times. 🥲

I wanted to take my husband so that he could experience its greatness!!!

The fair has gotten reallllly popular over the years with social media and the growth of the state. There can be anywhere between 80,000 and 180,000 people that come through daily so some of

the stuff I’d normally do I really couldn’t access because of crowds. We saw the parade, listened to amazing life music, went through the agricultural building and food building, and walked around for hours (12k steps just from the fair!). We were with my cousin and her boyfriend, and also my good friend. I also ran into an old friend who I haven’t seen for 10 years!! 🥲

The fair vendors bring in upwards of $4,000,000 each, every year, depending on the vendor so there’s a lot of pressure to provide good food, and good fast service.

Here are my hot takes for this year’s fair food we tried:

Get ✅ the Crab Boil Wings!!! 🦀 🌽 🥔 🍗

These are new to the fair this year, and at $20 we thought they were well worth it! 10/10 💳 💵

Cheese curds are always a hit!! 🧀 9/10 bc they weren’t as hot as I prefer 💳💵

✅Big Fat Bacon was SO GOOD and honestly the best thing I had. 🥓 10/10 $6 💳💵

⏭️ Fresh Corn 🌽 $4, it was GOOD don’t get me wrong. But many of them were burnt. I also don’t think it’s necessary. But it was good! 8/10 💵

⏭️ Hot Dish on a stick 🍖 it was ok. I was expecting something a little different but we still ate it. 4/10. $7 💳💵

⏭️ Skip Sweet Martha’s cookies 🍪 and instead go for a unique dessert like deep fried Oreos, Twinkie’s or candy bars. IMHO, as a cookie snob, Sweet Martha’s are incredibly overrated and overhyped, and there are other things you could try. I got the deep fried Reese’s and it was 🔥 10/10 💳💵 $6

If you ever get a chance to go, do it!!! We are already planning for next year 🐖 🤣🫶🏾
