Mexico City: Roma Norte or Condesa? 🪴🇲🇽

As a first time visitor in Mexico City and someone who enjoys walking around, trying coffee shops, eating, visiting galleries & museums Roma Nte. & La Condesa were the perfect places to stay.

Yes, these are definitely the most gentrified areas of CDMX and you’ll find a lot of expats (especially Americans) almost everywhere you go. Both these areas are safe for the most part, very walkable (so many plants and trees), and have so many cool spots to visit.

Roma Norte

🌱 Loved the streets Colima & Tabasco

🌱 Many popular spots are here e.g. Panaderia Rosetta, vibe here is definitely more trendy

🌱 Not really a distinction, but the sidewalks here are way wonkier

🌱 Several parks and squares here that are nice to dog-watch in

🌱 Buildings here are older / more traditional

Condesa

🌱 Found this area to be alot more green than Roma Norte - they have Parque Espana and Parque Mexico on top of Amsterdam Avenue which are great places to walk!

🌱 I feel the popular spots here are more spread out

🌱 Relatively feels more relaxed than Roma Norte

🌱 Buildings here are newer, more high rises

Personally, I would choose to stay in Condesa next time!
