VISITED THE FAMOUS MATCHA IN KL 🇹🇭 • NIKO NEKO 🍵

Initially wanted to try ren & Kiku from their signature series but there’s a single cultivar matcha series which is a seasonal special!! I tried them with milk and without sugar (which is the recommended sugar level)

personal favourite 💖 u can really taste a salty umami flavour from here, and the earthiness, reminiscent of the “chestnut” flavour they described!

𝗧𝗮𝘂𝘆𝘂𝗸𝗵𝗶𝗸𝗮𝗿𝗶 𝗞𝟭 𝗹𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲 - 𝗥𝗠𝟭𝟳

cream cracker-ish flavour profile which I couldn’t taste unfortunately (as I would loveeee to call myself a matcha connoisseur but I can’t 😭) It did have more vegetal notes (≠ cheap grassy taste) with a slight bitter aftertaste, which concludes with saemidori being the TOP for me 🫶🏻

𝗬𝘂𝗿𝗶 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗻𝘁 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗸𝗲 - 𝗥𝗠𝟭𝟬

super strong matcha flavour!! They really went all in with their burnt cheesecakes 🫶🏻 in order to counter the grassiness or bitterness, they added in a lot of sugar in both the cheesecake mix and the cream - which sadly I found a little too sweet for me. I enjoyed having it with my matcha latte as It came without sugar, so the sweetness from the cake complements it!

📍chinatown KL / Bangsar (I visited the one in bangsar)

- relatively quiet on weekday 12pm sharp, but super difficult to find parking lots unless u avoid the lunch crowd. people started pouring in around 12.40++ but it’s still alright.
