Nigerian Fantasy Series Rec!

Akata Witch is a middle grade fantasy series based in Nigeria and contains incredible Nigerian mythology and folklore. We follow Sunny who is albino and deals with stereotypes and bullying that it comes with. She becomes friends with Orlu, Chichi, and Sasha who all discover a whole new world 👀 This book is heralded as akin to Harry Potter but I would argue it’s even more inventive! While the world building was incredible, I do wish the plot was a bit more fleshed out! I still highly recommend the entire series!
