Is a digital camera worth it and recommendations

I’ve been wanting a digital camera for the longest but I’m facing 2 dilemmas

1. Which one do I even get

2. Which ones are worth it to the point where your phone doesn’t compare

My bf has an iPhone 15 pro max so the photos he takes on his phone are usually really good so I want a camera that I will feel like is better then that
