How to gain access to First class lounge!

Traveling on First or Biz class is not just about the flying experiences but it starts the moment you step into the airport. Even more so when in the European countries whereby they have a separate Q from boarding to security clearance.

As we all know, there will definitely be preferential and priority check in at the airport.. with access to their business class lounges. But do you know that you can also have access to the airlines First Class lounges if you accumulate and fly with their partnering airlines. Eg Singapore Airlines is under Star alliance, partnering with other airlines like EVA Air, All Nippon Airways, Thai Airways, Lufthansa.. and another 10 over airlines. I usually travel with Qatar which is under OneWorld and they partner with British Airways, Qantas, Cathay Pacific, JAL.. just to name a few.. So plan your flights with the partnering airlines to climb up their membership tiers.

After traveling with OneWorld over the yrs, we have climbed up and are able to maintain and keep our membership at their highest membership tier. Now when I travel on their Biz class, instead of going to their usual biz lounges, which can be super crowded during the peak hrs.. not becos everyone here are having a biz class ticket, but they are either just a frequent flyer at a tier of their membership where they can have free access to the lounge.. Or they can even pay to enter the lounge.

In our recent transit in HK, we visited their First Class lounge to avoid the crowd and we wanted to have a quick shower b4 the flight. Do you know that a quick shower during transit is so so refreshing! If you are at the biz class lounge, regardless any airports, always head to the shower first (you might need to Q) before dining in at the lounge as it’s always crowded.

If you are in HK and visiting Cathay lounges, there are 2 First Class lounges. One of them is THE WING and is nearer to the immigration.. very crowded when I was once there.. THE PIER is near the boarding gates, and I’m surprise it’s quiet during the evening peak hrs. Check out my shower cubicle in my pics.

As for food, maybe it’s an Asia airline, Cathay food never disappoint us!

The last pic was towards end of our trip, when we extended a few days stay in HK and on our flight back to Sg. For some reason, the check in at all counters, even for the biz class is long long Q. However with our membership tier, we head straight to their First Class Priority check in.

Do you know that when in the European countries, security clearance for Priority airlines members, or if you are traveling Biz/First Class, you literally no Q. Not forgetting your luggage will be tagged as Priority and hence you don’t need to be waiting to collect your luggage when you alight from your plane.

These preferential treatment is why I choose to fly Biz if possible. It’s part of the package! So start planning your flights with the end in mind. We start our holiday like a VIP.
