Bali Pre-wedding Shoot Experience

Before I got engaged, I already wanted to do my PWS in Bali because I had seen many photos on Instagram and I like the vibes of the place. After I got engaged, one of the first few things we did for our wedding prep is to search for Bali photographers. I think I shortlisted about 8 photographers, enquired on 5 and eventually went ahead with the one as taken above.

1. How I search for Bali’s photographers:

Basically, when you start looking at a type of photo/content on insta, similar accounts will start popping out. I started saving all the different photographers’ posts on insta. Then we email/whatsapp them for the rates.

2. How I select the one:

Based on price of shoot, what do the shoot include of and of course you must like the style of the shoot. Our preferred style is more casual/subtle romantic. No funny styles or too cringy romantic vibes.

3. Why did we go with the one:

Their pricing isn’t the most expensive compared to the rest of the photographers. He uploaded a lot of his portfolios on insta, so I have many photos to view and most photos are taken really nicely.

4. What does it include of:

We did a full day shoot and it included 3 locations, transportation and make up. The photographer gave us a list of locations that we can do the shoot at and we just selected from there.

5. Shoot day:

The make up artist is provided for; I didn’t choose the make up artist. I asked for a simple make up, the makeup turns out a bit Indonesian vibe but wasn’t too thick. I didn’t really like the ponytail, it turned out quite messy. So, I requested my hair to be put down for the other shoots.

We met the photographer on the day of the shoot, we only talked to him over whatsapp beforehand. He was really friendly and guided all our poses. He gave me the feel that he is very experienced.

6. Overall:

Overall, we enjoyed the shoot, but was very tiring. The photos turned out great. He didn’t take very long to return us the edited photos. Probably took a month or less. So, no regrets, and it’s also cheaper than to do a full day shoot in Singapore.
