dumpling darlings: worth the hype?

what we ordered:

appetisers: black fungus and bean sprouts 🌱 (6.5/10)

slightly tangy and super refreshing,, not very wow but i thought it was pretty good (we ordered a second serving cause it wasn’t enough for the 5 of us)

dumplings 🥟: (comes in a gang of 5, perfect for my fam)

the original (7/10)

the typical chinese / japanese style dumplings,, skin was so soft and chewy i loved the texture with a really flavourful filling,, was my dad’s favourite cause he’s traditional LOL

prawn and crab 🦀 (6/10)

crispy dumpling served with a slightly tangy and sour sauce but the filling wasn’t the most suitable to me,, slightly spicy like otah kinda vibes or maybe i just have something wrong with my tastebuds. my sister said it tasted like chilli crab though (i couldn’t taste that)

fried pierogi 🥔 (8.5/10)

perfectly fried dumpling that’s crispy but not oily at all, served with a sweet and tangy sauce,, super unique cause it was mainly truffle potato and you can actually taste the truffle but i think there shld be abit more bacon in there cause my sister said she didn’t taste bacon at all, i tasted like only one piece of bacon which was slightly saltish and made the dumpling even better than it alr was,, but i only tasted it in my second bite so pls put more bacon 😭😭

smoked duck 🦆 (8.49/10)

was so good as well i honestly can’t decide which dumpling i liked more,, very distinct smoked duck flavour and tgt with the balsamic gave it a slight tangy kick

dessert dumpling 🍦(5/10)

honestly i think it rlly is a personal preference thing… loved the dumpling, super warm with the pear and pairing it with the cold ice cream would have been a perfect combination but i just wasn’t the biggest fan of the ice cream 😭😭 but i feel like cause it’s really unique and ngl first taste made me ask whether it’s tea or something but just not my style… but i think most ppl would like it though just not me HAHAHA

noodles 🍜:

XO prawn noodles 🦐 (8.5/10)

100% the best noodles there,, i didn’t want to order it at first cause i had to peel the shell off but no regrets ordering it,, noodles were cooked perfectly al dente,, soft and chewy,, the sauce was just AMAZING,, slight seafood taste and so flavourful,, prawns were over cooked though but was so huge,, gave so many scallions as well,, at the end i was

miso mushroom noodles 🍄

my sister said it tastes exactly how u would expect, generous amt of juicy mushrooms

damage 💸💸: $$/$$$$$ abt $120 for 5,, but we didn’t order drinks

overall rating ✨✨: 7.5/10

will i come again?

YUP,, not my first time coming here,, in fact third and i feel everytime i go back and i still like it as much,, if you’re a small eater just share the dumplings!! i feel like the dumplings really are the star of the show and it’s a must order!! definitely quite affordable and worth the hype i feel!!
