If you’re working in a corporate job (like most of my peers), chances are… you 𝒎𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒃𝒆 covered under the company’s insurance scheme.
Relying SOLELY on company insurance can only do so much for you.
That’s why in this post, I’ll reveal 3 factors that would be important for you to consider (the last one will come off as a surprise).
#1 : 𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐃𝐄𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐆𝐄 - Under the Employment Act, all employers are required to provide BASIC medical benefits to their employees for inpatient hospitalization and certain outpatient treatments (which is usually in the form of company insurance) - but this requirement only applied to Spass & Work Permit (𝑺𝒐, 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑬𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒔, 𝑷𝑹, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒏, 𝒊𝒕 𝒕𝒐𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒅𝒆𝒑𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒔 𝒊𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒇𝒊𝒕)
#2 : 𝐋𝐈𝐌𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐅𝐋𝐄𝐗𝐈𝐁𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐓𝐘 - Many companies offer a one-size-fits-all insurance policy that may not take into account the specific needs of each employee (for cost saving purposes).
#3 : 𝐃𝐄𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐘 𝐎𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐀𝐍𝐘 - You may end up dependent on your employer for your coverage needs. Let’s take it as you’ve been pretty happy with the coverage your company has been providing and have yet to take the initiative to explore other options outside of your company insurance. But unfortunately, one day you are diagnosed with a serious medical condition…HOW?
