Back in May, my extended family and I went for a short trip to Malacca (tbh it was just to use our airbnb credits that were stuck in the account because of a choice we made during the early days of covid).

My aunts have raved about this place for the longest time, and so I requested for them to bring us there this trip because I've never been there. As someone who makes her own Hakka Abacus with a recipe I learnt from my great grandmother, I was always skeptical about Hakka food outside 'cause how good can it be?

I had to eat my words because it was spectacular. Maybe the Hakka Abacus isn't exactly the taste of what home, but it tasted like their yam and tapioca flour ratio was just right, and the other dishes were great too!

There were a lot of us so everything we ordered was large. 🌝
