Paris - Museums Part 1

Paris is so big on art and culture, it's one of the top few reasons why I absolutely love living in that city. Here is a rundown of my favourite musees to visit.

1. (My absolute favourite): Musée de l'Orangerie

Location: Jardin Tuileries, 75001 Paris, France

Estimate duration: 2 hours

What it is: The Musée de l'Orangerie is an art gallery of impressionist and post-impressionist paintings located in Tuileries Garden next to the Place de la Concorde in Paris. It houses Monet’s water lilies (monumental series of water lily paintings, Les Nymphéas) in this beautiful oval shaped room. It's a small but impactful museum, especially if you’re a lover of Monet like I am. In the basement, there are also other impressionist works on display, like Renoir and even some Picasso. But I always go there when I'm feeling down or bored to look at Monet’s pieces.

2. Petit Palais

Location: Av. Winston Churchill, 75008 Paris, France

Estimate duration: 1 hour

As the name suggests, the art museum is pretty petit housing a few beautiful sculptures and some paintings. But the selling point of this museum that gets me going back is the BEAUTIFUL garden inside the museum. There is a cafe too so you can sit in the garden with your hot chocolate and read a book.
