Underrated European winter destinations

If you want to go skiing in Switzerland this winter but don’t have Switzerland money, there’s about a billion lesser known places in Europe you can go that are less known!

Poiana Brașov in Romania is a touristic center for winter travel - there’s skiing (they have rentals on-site and lessons as well), paragliding, sledding, and ice skating with many hotels for a weeks stay or so. They also have a chalet in the mountains with food, drinks, and music, next to the teleferry. I recommend going at the same time as the Christmas markets in Romania (in the nearby town center of Brasov) for an amazing week. You can take an Uber into town for about $5, it’s a 20 minute Uber ride.

There’s also many local restaurants in Poiana, but vegetarians take caution, this might not be the best destination for you. 😅 Traditional food is very centered around meat, and in mountainous areas, the menu also often has game meat - deer, mountain rooster, boar, and even bear. I personally love this but it might not be for everyone!⭐️
