I had such a fun reading month. It seems as though my reading year is just continuing to get better. Feeling spoiled with how much Iโve been loving each book I pick up lately.
Books shown:
๐๐ฆ The Serpent & The Wings of Night by Carissa Broadbent (5๐)- If I could give this one a million stars, I would. Quite possibly my new favorite of all time. Havenโt been able to stop thinking about it since putting it down.
๐ฑ Glow by Raven Kennedy (5๐)- Although Gleam was my all time favorite of the series so far, Glow really takes you for a ride. All I know is iโm a die hard for Slade & Auren. The plated prisoner series is a masterpiece that should definitely be on your radar.
๐ธ๏ธ House of Hollow by Krystal Sutherland (4๐)- a gothic poe style mystery, this one has plot twists that had my jaw dropping & amazing dark imagery. If you like a light fantasy & horror standalone, this oneโs for you.
โ๏ธ Heir of Fire by SJM (4.75๐)- Iโm savoring my first read through of ToG. Heir of fire was such a treat. A new perspective comes into play & Iโm madly in love with Manon at that. Officially ready to claim that I like ToG even better than ACOTAR, although I know both series will leave a similar imprint on my heart.
๐ฆDaughter of No Worlds (4.5๐)- This is your sign to dive into Carissa Broadbentโs work if you havenโt yet. I fell in love with Tissanah & Max early on, heavier on plot, very light on smut, if you like magic realms, grumpy x sunshine, power wars, & emotionally moving & captivating scenes, this oneโs for you.
๐ฎ A Great & Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray (4.5๐)- Dark Academia, Witches, Forbidden Magic, Secrets & Sisterhood, this was a reread for me but it hit the spot just the same 12 years later. Cozy, compelling, and the first of the Gemma Doyle Trilogy. Though classified as YA, Libba Brayโs writing for all ages. Captivating from chapter 1.
๐ค Hooked by Emily McCintire (3๐)- A guilty pleasure. The first in the Never After series, but each book is its own contemporary dark romance story. I devoured this one, a fictional retelling of Hook, Wendy, and Peter. I have 4 words: Villain gets the girl. If youโre a fan of the trope, and love a morally grey man, youโll love this.
