Hellu zesties IM BACK 😜😜 and y’all gotta brace yourselves—because my #summerdiary is gonna be filled with tons of food places for you to check out! 😙✌️

I shall kick off my first summer diary entry with this 4.6 Stars (google) Thai restaurant that brings to the table a modern Thai culinary concept with a wood-fired twist 😮‍💨🔥

Read on to find out more ka 🙏

🪵 𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗙𝗜 𝗪𝗢𝗢𝗗𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗔𝗜

Drawing its name from the Thai term for ‘fire’ aka ‘ไฟ’ (pronounced ‘fai’), Fi Woodfire Thai serves hearty dishes that encapsulate the rich flavours & diversity of Thai cuisine while adding a unique touch—a double-insulated wood fire oven that reaches up to 450 degrees Celsius!!! 🤯 Fueled by Binchō-tan charcoal and lychee wood, Fi also promises an unmatched infusion of smoky richness into each dish 👀

🇹🇭 𝗪𝗛𝗔𝗧 𝗪𝗘 𝗢𝗥𝗗𝗘𝗥𝗘𝗗

𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙘𝙡𝙖𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙧: 𝘈𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘮𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘶𝘣𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 & 𝘐 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘯 𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘶𝘳! 𝘏𝘦𝘩𝘦

⭐️ “𝙈𝙤𝙤 𝙋𝙞𝙣𝙜” 𝙎𝙢𝙤𝙠𝙚𝙙 𝘿𝙪𝙧𝙤𝙘 𝙋𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙍𝙞𝙗𝙨 ($42)

MY MIND = BLOWN. The meat was so exceptionally juicy, flavourful and tender that it easily slid off the bone…and its fats melted in my mouth 🤤 I heard that they use 500g bone-in, Spanish Chestnut-fed Duroc pork—which probably explains why the meat was so tender and flavour-packed!!! Chilli is spicy af tho (i can’t take spicy food LOL) 🤭 It seems a little pricey for four pieces but it’s huge af so SUPER WORTH IT OK.

⭐️ 𝙎𝙚𝙖𝙛𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙋𝙖𝙙 𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙞 ($16)

This was not bad! Sweet & savoury like how a pad thai should be and perfectly balanced when you top it off with a hint of lime 😆 Really liked how they topped it off with a sunny side up hehe, makes it less jelak to eat 🤣

⭐️ 𝙁𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙝 𝙋𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙚𝙩 ($28)

This was very well marinated and aromatic but we did find the chicken a little dry. BUT if you dip the chicken into the chicken liver jaew on the side, it does give an oomph factor to it 😆

⭐️ 𝘽𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙡 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙙 𝙋𝙤𝙧𝙠 𝙤𝙣 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙀𝙜𝙜𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙩 ($16)

SECOND TO THE MOOPING!! I think we cleared the whole bowl LMFAO. Though they’re not exactly the greatest individually, they taste amazing together 😩🤝 The charred eggplant was slightly bitter on its own (because of the charred parts) but when eaten together with the minced pork—which balances the char—the combination brings together a robust and flavourful dish 🤩

⭐️ 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝘾𝙤𝙧𝙣 𝙎𝙤𝙢 𝙏𝙤𝙢 ($14)

We loved this! It felt like a crossover between a good mango salad & lohei (YES THAT CNY LOHEI), which typically mean that it would be sweet and sour….but this Charred Corn Som Tom was smoky spicy, sweet, and tangy 😳🌽

⭐️ 𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙞 𝙈𝙞𝙡𝙠 𝙏𝙚𝙖 𝙋𝙖𝙣𝙣𝙖 𝘾𝙤𝙩𝙩𝙖 ($12)

As a true blue thai milk tea and panna cotta fan, this dessert was a crossover i didn’t know i needed 😩👌 Perfect if you’re looking for a creamy yet light dessert!! With the milk tea taste shining through, this panna cotta REALLY STOLE MY HEART ✨

⭐️ 𝘾𝙤𝙘𝙠𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙨

I bar hop a lot. And by a lot, I mean 3 cocktail bars in one evening, twice a week kinda hop (time for me to share my favourite bars soon) 😭 But ok back to Fi Woodfire Thai, I was very pleasantly surprised to find out that they serve actual cocktails—along with the right ice & glasses used etc. compared to some restaurants!! 👍

𝙒𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚:

1) 𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙞 𝙈𝙞𝙡𝙠 𝙏𝙚𝙖 𝙃𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙡 ($20)

This was interesting! Creamy with a distinct taste of the Thai milk tea but yet, you can still taste the alcohol. Quite a spirit-forward drink imo so if you don’t like drinks that are too strong, you can skip to the next one 👀

2) 𝙎𝙖𝙗𝙖𝙞 ($20)

‘Sabai’ means “to relax” in Thai and this Mekong rum-based cocktail definitely feels like a retreat to Thailand 🤩 Loved how refreshing it was with the lemongrass and it also had a tinge of spiciness!

P.S. At Fi Woodfire Thai, each cocktail begins at $20 BUT the second cocktail would be $18, and the third and subsequent cocktails would be $16!!! It’s a steal if you ask me 🤯

🔥 𝗧𝗛𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛𝗧𝗦 & 𝗩𝗜𝗕𝗘𝗦

Portions of some dishes were huge and our meal could actually be just nice for 4 pax 😂 service was immaculate too! But only one complain—the lighting was a little yellow so it was a little tough to snap photos BAHAHA (jokes that’s not a complain lol i loved the vibe) 🤪

Our fav dishes would definitely be the Moo Ping, Charred Egg Plant, Charred Corn Som Tom & Thai Milk Tea Panna Cotta! You can go try their food and let me know your favs 🤭🤭

Anyway, thank you for reading and I’ll see you guys in the next post 🫶
