Hi sweetlings!
Those yang kenal I, mesti tau I memang suka berkawan. Iโm an extrovert dari dulu lagi. And Iโm still in touch with my besties from all stages of my life. From childhood, sekolah, Asasi, Degree & Masters ๐ฅฐ Alhamdulillah.
Many of my friends especially stay-at-home moms, they tend to lose their friends after they got married and especially after having kids! Sebab dah caught up sangat dengan their own family, they forgot their oldselves sometimes ๐ฅบ (Iโve been there too!)
Tapi luckily I still have my friends around to keep me on my feet. ๐ฅน How do I maintain my friendship with them even after 6 years being married and having 2 kids? ๐ณ
1. Celebrate birthdays together!
2. Be there on their big day
3. Visit them
4. Invite them over to your place
5. Staycation!
6. Send thoughtful gifts
7. Grow together ๐
As you age, you will understand that being friends does not mean you need to meet, call or text as frequent as before. Just by being there for them when they need you is more than enough. ๐ญ
Your friends will tend to look for you only when they need you, but that does not mean theyโre taking advantage on you. That just means theyโre being respectful that youโre already married and with family. So it is up to us to reach out to them when we have the time ๐ฅฐ
Us women are most likely to lose ourselves after we got married and with kids. We are prone to put others ahead of us. But now, I always remind myself this: I AM ME FIRST before I am someoneโs wife, and someoneโs mother. I ought to have my own friends too. And you should to! ๐ซถ๐ผ
Much โฅ๏ธ,
Fat Mustaza
