Honest thoughts on the Carlyn bag

I’ve had the carlyn cozy bag in both ivory and aurora for a few months now, and here are my thoughts on them!

When I first laid my eyes on the carlyn bag, I was like OMG it’s so cute! A puffy bag but a feminine version! The quilts remind me so much of the lady Dior quilts, and the scrunched up strap made it extra chic.

👍Pros:

🎀it’s really light weight! And hence very suitable for travelling. I brought it along on my trip to Korea and I actually brought along a couple of other bags, but I kept reaching out for my Carlyn in the end.

🎀it can fit so much! Umbrellas, water bottles, passports, they all fit in!

🎀the zipper is very smooth and opens and closes really easily with just one hand.

🎀it doesn’t get dirty easily: I spilled grape juice on my bag once, and thought that my bag was a goner, but thankfully after wiping it off, there was no stain!

🎀and of course I love the fact that it’s convertible! Use it as a shoulder bag or as a crossbody

👎Cons:

🎀The non metallic version looks a bit flatter if it’s not filled with things. The metallic version material is a bit stiffer, so it holds its shape better.

🎀it’s not exactly that cheap at $99

🎀the material makes it quite slippery so it does slip off my shoulders when I wear it as a shoulder bag on certain fabrics

🎀I wish there was another compartment inside as it gets a bit difficult to find things especially if you’ve put a lot of stuff inside.

🛍️But if you have friends heading to Korea, you have to get it there?! I didn’t make it to their physical store in Hongdae but I did order one for my friend on the shilla duty free website, and picked it up at the airport when I was heading back. It’s like $30+ cheaper than sg! The price on shilla duty free can fluctuate every now and then, so it’s good to check back every once in awhile. Right now there’s a 10% discount but when I got it for my friend there was around 20%.
