If you're dreaming of a trip that feels like stepping into a Studio Ghibli film, then Taiwan is the place to be! Here's my ultimate 6-day Taiwan itinerary featuring must-see spots and unforgettable experiences!!

Day 1

I arrived at Taipei and settled into my hotel. Then, I headed to Ximending Shi-men Ting for some shopping and to try some street food. The area was vibrant and kinda reminded me of Bugis street. 🌆 I visited Q Square Mall and did more shopping as it’s a haven for shopaholics with a mix of local and international brands. 🛍️ Then, I ended my day at Ningxia Night Market as I tried local delicacies like oyster omelets, stinky tofu, and bubble tea🧋

Day 2:

I started my day with a visit to the iconic Taipei 101 as I couldn’t miss the observatory for a panoramic views of the city! 🏙️ Then I spent time exploring nearby shopping areas 🛒 and hit up another night market (Raohe and Shida Night Market) for dinner.

Day 3:

I took a trip to the real-Life Spirited Away in Jioufen / Jiufen, this was the highlight of my trip! 🎎 This charming village looks straight out of a Studio Ghibli movie, totally "Spirited Away" vibes!! 🏞️ I wandered through the narrow streets filled with lanterns and little shops. Then I had lunch at the famous A-Mei Teahouse , which inspired the iconic bathhouse in the film! 🍵 Afterwards, I headed over to Shifen Waterfall to see the breathtaking waterfall. 💦 You can also release sky lanterns here and write your wishes on them! Lastly, I returned to Taipei and enjoy dinner at Shilin Night Market . It is one of the largest and most famous night markets in Taiwan. 🍽

Day 4:

I visited the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, a national monument and cultural landmark. Every hour from 9am to 5pm, you can observe as the guards change shifts, all the marching is about 10 minutes! I also explored nearby parks and museums while I was there. Finally, I dined at 大腕燒肉Da-wan for some mouth-watering steaks. The flavours and quality here are top-notch, and each table has a personal chef to cook for you, it was definitely a must-visit place for beef lovers!! 🥩

Day 5:

I travelled to Tamsui District , a coastal district known for its beautiful scenery. 🌊 I strolled along the Tamsui Old Street, enjoyed street food, and visited the Tamsui Fisherman’s Wharf for the beautiful views. 🌅 Then I returned to Taipei for a relaxed evening after exploring more of Tamsui’s night market.

Day 6:

I dedicated my last day to shopping! I visited Taipei’s most popular malls like Taipei City Mall, Shin Kong Mitsukoshi, and Breeze Center.🛍️ I enjoyed my lunch at a local restaurant and took this opportunity to get last-minute souvenirs and gifts before leaving for the airport.🎉

💡 Tips:

- Transport: Get an EasyCard for convenient travel on public transportation. 🚆

- Weather: Check the weather forecast and pack accordingly. Taiwan can be quite humid! ☁️

- Language: Learn a few basic Mandarin phrases or download a translation app to help with communication.

- Cash: Keep some cash on hand, as many small vendors and night market stalls don’t accept credit cards. 💰
