Creating Christmas Traditions of Our Own

For most of my adult life I clung onto the Christmas traditions from my family. But now I'm married and I'm eager to have my own traditions that I share with my husband. It's amiditidly difficult to start your own traditions when you still travel back to your parents houses every holiday. But here are a few small ones that we have started and stuck to over the last 5 years.

We always get to the Rockefeller Tree to take a picture in front of it. I love having a collection of these pictures to look back at.

Even though actual Christmas is out of the house, we do a "pre" Christmas at home with just the two of us. We do a full Christmas eve dinner, exchange gifts in the morning, and I make my grandmothers traditional breakfast casserole.

One of my fave traditions we have is always buying food themed ornaments. Our tree has everything from Roquefort cheese to brussels sprouts!

A new tradition that we (re)started of mine is an annual Christmas party. It was a hit so I forsee it happening every year!
