Starting at the gym when you're a beginner can be intimidating. As a personal trainer, I have provided a few beginner-friendly tips that might take the edge off of starting your fitness journey!

Tip #1 :

Plan out your workouts. Set realistic goals and plan your daily exercises to those goals! Whether it's an upper, lower, or full-body workout; planning your exercises before hand can eliminate feeling lost or overwhelmed when you arrive.

Tip #2 :

Increase your protein! As you continue your fitness journey you may notice your appetite begin to increase. This is natural! Your body is exerting more engird thus boring more calories in food. To best maintain, and build muscle you must continue to fuel your body with high-protein options!

Tip #3 :

Train in a progressive overload. You may or may not have heard of this term before. A progressive overload is when you are constantly building upon the intensity or limit you are currently at. If you squatted 40 pounds today, you may try to squat 45 or 50 pounds the next time! Keep pushing yourself! Your body is way stronger and capable than you may believe!

Overall, consistency is key. Results don't come overnight and it is important to hold yourself accountable when beginning your fitness journey. You got this!!
