was it worth it? 💇🏻‍♀️

Recently I got the urge to get my hair permed again…! The last time I got it permed was in 2016… and the perm wasn’t fantastic and I ended up paying $200 for it. Not the best experience but I was ready to risk it all again! After doing some basic research, I chose LUXE Signature at JB City Square to get it done. They have 5-stars on google reviews so I thought it would be worth a shot! #WorthIt

Since you already clicked into the post, you would already know that the curls turned out great and I am very satisfied with it overall. Will breakdown the details below:

Condition of my hair:

✧ Naturally very straight and fine hair

✧ Bleached once many years ago, the ends still showed signs of bleaching but this was trimmed by the stylist

What I asked for:

✧ Korean Wave/S-curls (20-25mm; not too tight and not too loose either)

✧ Curls to start higher up (around my ears for more volume)

✧ Very layered cut (again because my hair lacks volume)

Cost:

✧ Trim and cut ~80 ringgit (you can skip this but I got it because the ends of my hair were still bleached and you cannot perm bleached hair)

✧ Perm: Base 260 ringgit + 160 ringgit (for longer hair; depends on individual)

TOTAL: 500 ringgit = ~SGD156

Experience:

✧ I made an appointment for 3pm, but it took at least 20mins before they could attend to me because the salon was busy

✧ I knew the perm would take some time and was prepared to sit for up to 3 hours, but it overran to 4 hours total instead (there were frequent breaks between each step which is the norm, but because they were busy they could not attend to me straight away after each step.

✧ Not the most comfortable seat and you have to be seated for some time

✧ My stylist and her assistant were both very sweet and understood exactly what I wanted 👍

Great experience overall and the curls have been easy to manage~
