The SOAP Method 🦋

To prepare for the Bible plan we’ll be starting on June 1st, I’ve decided to break down the method I use during my Bible study and how it works for me.

🙏🏾SCRIPTURE: Write out the scripture you will be focusing on and highlight any key words that stand out to you and also take the time to define any words you may not know. I also sometimes look up the verse in different translations to see if that helps my understanding.

🙏🏾OBSERVATIONS: What is the verse saying to you? What is the message that is being communicated? Here, you can also research commentary to help with understanding as well.

🙏🏾APPLICATION: How does this verse apply to you? What ways can you incorporate this into your daily life in order to become better? If you can think of a personal application to your life, broaden it and identify how someone else can apply the message in the verse.

🙏🏾PRAYER: Take the time to communicate with God about the verse, and pray that he will help you apply or identify ways to apply the verse in your life and to the benefit of others around you.
