Hello guys! 👋🏻
Went to Ipoh last October for the first time. Surprisingly, I had lots of fun and ate sooo many meals a day. I would name this trip “ EAT TILL WE DROP”.
For context, we went Ipoh for 5D4N and also booked a tour guide as it was our first time. The guide was super friendly and had good initiative bringing us around, especially the non- touristy areas. (lmk if you would like the guide’s contact; 10/10 recommends) Here’s some food places that I highly suggest:
1. Keng Mee Cafe
It’s a hidden gem. Non touristy area that sells pretty solid and authentic malaysian food. The toast and maggie with egg/luncheon meat was so good 😭
2. Fei Lou Curry Noodles
My first curry mee in Ipoh! It was a bowl to remember 🫢 The sauce and flavour was so good and authentic!
Fei Lou Wu - curry mee & hainamese chicken rice
3. Kedai Kopi Sun Yuan Loong
We had curry chee chong fan, runny eggs on toast (SO GOOD!)
4. Woong Kee Beancurd
The best beancurd I had ever eaten. I’m not really a fan of beancurd but this was so good! We even returned again to have another bowl. I prefer the ginger beancurd over the original one.
Oh and Ipoh’s coffee is so so good!!! 🤯 I can’t emphasise how good and tasty their coffee is. Feels bad saying this but it was so much better than yakun 🥺 Hope this post is useful if you are planning on a short trip to Ipoh!
Love,
Des
