I'm 24 years old and still living at home with my parents. I moved back in after college to save money and get on my feet career-wise. That was two years ago, and I'm still here.
Part of me feels like a failure or like I'm just being lazy by not getting my own place. All my friends have their own apartments or houses. I see people my age online living these trendy, independent lives and I can't help but feel like I'm lagging behind.
However, the other part of me feels like living with my parents while I'm still relatively young and building my career/finances is the smart move. The cost of living is just so high these days, and living at home lets me save a lot. My parents are also great - they give me freedom and don't really treat me like a child anymore.
I guess I'm just feeling conflicted. Do you think it's odd or unacceptable for someone in their mid-20s to still be living at home? Or is this pretty normal nowadays with how expensive it is to be on your own? I'm not in a rush to move out, but I also don't want to be seen as weird or immature.
Let me know your thoughts! I'm really curious to hear different perspectives on this. #livingwithparents #20somethings #savingmoney #AskLemon8
