Book Review: The House Across the Lake

Casey is the daughter of Broadway Royalty. She even dabbled in acting herself and was well on her way to making a career for herself. But then, her husband drowned at their lake house and Casey turned to alcohol.

Her days are spent drinking bourbon, drowning in memories and watching her neighbors with a pair of her husband’s old bird binoculars.

The house across the lake is home to supermodel Katherine and tech extraordinaire Tom Royce. When Casey saves Katherine from drowning one afternoon, a friendship is blossomed. But soon after odd things start happening at the Royce’s lake house.

When Katherine goes missing, Casey is sure Tom is responsible. Add in a neighbor, who is an ex-cop hiding secrets of his own, four other missing girls, urban legends and a lot of alcohol; Casey has no idea what she has gotten herself into.

This book has twists and turns you will never see coming. As an avid thriller reader, it’s difficult to find books that still shock me but this one did it. Highly highly recommend!
