🫠 Today I want to share with you all how I cured my eczema without steroids. For many years I suffered from eczema on my face, joints, neck, fingers, legs ... everywhere 🫣 It was so bad random people in the bus was promoting me creams from Thailand 😅 And once I'm stressed, it will break out. 🫣 My boss can tell when I'm stressed just by looking at my skin even if I deny it to the end, it's embarrassing 😭 And my work place is such that 'stress' is taboo. You got to work and face all these demands gracefully, make perfect judgement all the time, be fast, handle heavy workload, and somehow, not be stressed 🤔

I took multiple courses of oral steroids, strong topical steroids, all sorts of antihistamines ...

Finally, I found a routine that works.

1) Shower with a light soap that won't irritate your skin. I use Sukin currently but neutrogena also works, and the Aveeno one is not bad. The dermatologist once gave me a pink soap but it was way too drying and got me in a worse itch.

2) Right after showering, moisturize! To me this is the most important step. I lather in a light Moisturiser the minute I'm done and towelled dry. even semi dry, I'll start slapping on the Moisturiser. I like Vaseline because it's cheap but I'm sure all sort of hypoallergenic Moisturiser will work. For eczema, they advocate a double pajamas method, which is after showering you moisturize while still damp, and put on an inner layer of damp pajamas, then an outer layer of dry one so u don't leak water on every surface you touch. I'm too lazy and it's too troublesome for me to adhere, but the logic is that your skin may retain the Moisturiser better when damp.

3) Right before I sleep, I moisturize again. If my skin looks or feels like it's breaking out in rashes soon, I use a more heavy cream instead of lotion (Aveeno cream). On normal nights to save money (Because the Aveeno skin relief cream is really more expensive) I use the Aveeno lotion form (Slightly cheaper). I wear long sleep pants so I don't feel sticky from the moisturisers and that prevents me from scratching.

4) In the morning after showering, i repeat step 2 and go to work

Other brands I've tried are

- Suubalm

- Cetaphil

- Cerave

- Eucerin

- Physiogel

But so far, the one that put the eczema into 'remission' is this current combination. Everybody's skin is different, and if your eczema is worse than mine probably you will need more topical or even oral steroids 🫤 Just sharing what worked for me and hopefully it will work for you too!
