New Korean Cafe in Bertam, Penang 🍜


Cafe review: BBC korean cafe

Bumbung Biru Cafe or also known as BBC korean cafe is a quite newly opened in Bertam Penang. They served korean muslim eatery with authentic, homey interior concept. I went there with my family during lunch hour on weekdays so it’s packed. Here’s what we’ve ordered:

1. Cheezy Chicken Deopbap

2. Gochujang Chicken Deopbap

3. Mixed korean Fried Chicken Combo

4. Tteok-bokki

5. Classic croffle

The first and second meals were chicken deopbap (like chicken popcorns) coated with preferred sauces and served with rice. The portion were really big, I can’t even finish mine. The sauce were okay but not the best that I ever taste. The soy garlic sauce is too sweet and I can’t taste the garlic, 6.5/10. For the fried chicken, the sauce that we chose were honey garlic and gochujang. The gochujang sauce was good however the honey garlic was too sweet , overpowering the savory of chicken taste. The chicken were cooked perfectly, 6.5/10. As for tteok-bokki, i think they made the tteokboki by themselves because i never taste tteokboki like thus before. It’s extra chewy and the taste of rice flour is kinda overwhelming. The sauce was okay too but nothing spectacular, 6.5/10. My favorite dish obviously the croffle! It was soooo good. It’s so buttery, flaky and fluffy at the same time. It’s literally melt in my mouth 🤤. The price is also affordable!

My overall experience was decent but i did tasted better korean food in somewhere else. Oh they also owned sushi cafe on top of this cafe so i might come back to try their sushi!
