SG HIDDEN GEM: CASUAL HONG KONG DINER

Discovered this hidden gem in Novena recently that serves 𝗚𝗢𝗢𝗗 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗔𝗙𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗗𝗔𝗕𝗟𝗘 Hong Kong food! I liked that the portions were quite generous and that the interior was nice and cozy. Here’s a review of everything I ate:

🏆 𝐒𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐤 ($𝟏𝟑.𝟖𝟎)

𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: This was yummy! The meat was tender, and the outside was nice and crispy. Not the kind of disappointing sweet and sour pork where it’s 50% flour and 50% yknow.

🏆 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐡 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐍𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐜 ($𝟏𝟓.𝟖𝟎)

𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: I didn’t expect to see a claypot dish at a HK restaurant but this was actually my favourite dish! It’s really peppery and well balanced with garlic. The claypot also gave the glass noodles a slightly charred taste which rly enhanced the flavour. There were 5 big and juicy prawns which I thought was quite generous too.

𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: Unfortunately the char siew was a bit tough for my liking (might be a personal thing tho). But the scrambled egg was yum. 😋

𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: Hmm this egg tart tasted pretty normal to me. Also wished it was served a little warmer!
