Become A Content Creator With Just An iPad

Did you know you could be almost any kind of content creator with just an iPad?

It may seem like a stretch, however, you can create just about any type of content with only an iPad.

Features your iPad has that can be used for content creation: camera, microphone, and a screen recorder.

✨Want to create video content (horizontal & vertical format)?

🎥 FILMING/RECORDING 🎥: You can record video using the built-in camera on your iPad. While it can be a little awkward holding up a tablet to record it gets the job done. You can also record your screen using the built-in screen recorder in your control center. If you record audio (voiceovers) try to record in a quiet space.

🎥 EDITING 🎥: There are hundreds of video editing apps on the App Store, so you should experiment with different ones to see which works best for your editing style. Two I’ve used are iMovie and Rush (Adobe). Both have a lot of templates for titles and transitions that make them beginner-friendly. These and other apps also let you edit video in vertical or horizontal format, some of which (Rush for sure) let you convert horizontal videos to vertical.

🎥 UPLOADING 🎥: Most social platforms allow video uploads through their respective apps (YouTube Studio, Lemon8, Instagram, etc) so make sure you have the ones you use installed.

✨ Want to livestream (Twitch, YouTube, TikTok)?

🔴 GO LIVE 🔴: You can go live on an iPad on Twitch, YouTube, and TikTok (if you meet the requirements). Granted the quality may not be as good as what you would have using a PC, if you’re just starting out it’s a good stepping stone to starting to build a community and audience that likes your personality

✨ Want to create photo content (Lemon8/Instagram/Pinterest/etc)?

📸 PHOTOGRAPH 📸: Use the built-in camera, you have some editing ability as well.

📸 MAKE IT POP 📸: Use apps to add cool effects and filters to photos. There are dozens of apps on the app store so I recommend trying out different ones and seeing which matches the editing workflow you like best. I use Canva to add effects and text to my Lemon8 posts, I also use it to make coordinated templates for Pinterest.

📸UPLOADING 📸: Every platform that accepts pictures will let you add them through their apps, so install the ones you want to focus on!

✨ Want to run a blog?

I can only speak on two blog platforms Wix and Wordpress, since I’ve used both. I recently switched my blog over to Wordpress, since Wix wasn’t worth the price in my opinion, so I’ll mainly talk about Wordpress blogs in this section. You can also post your blogs on Tumblr or Microblog sites.

✍️ JETPACK ✍️: Install the Jetpack app if you use WordPress, which will let you see your stats, blog posts, and other important info about your blog. You can write new blog posts and update existing blog posts using this app. There are also daily prompts if you need any inspiration.

✍️ WRITING ✍️: You can install any of the writing apps from the app store to draft blog posts, I use Google Docs since it also lets me work on both my iPad and my computer, or even my phone. If you need editing help there are also apps like Grammerly on the app store.
