i like to fill one of these out every couple months! especially bc i’m so goal-oriented, it really helps keep me conscious of how i’m actually ✨doing✨ in life
here’s how it works:
1️⃣ pick your categories
think of 6-8 important aspects or areas of your life. you can customize the categories to suit your personal situation or assessment - for example, you could split the "health" category into "emotional" and "physical"
2️⃣ write down the areas
draw a large circle and divide it into sections. Then, write down each area on the wheel
3️⃣ assess each area
for each category, rate your satisfaction level on a scale of 1–10, with 10 being ideal. you can also rate in terms of how much attention you're currently giving to each area
4️⃣ connect the dots
make a mark in the corresponding pie slice for each category's score, then connect the marks around the circle. this will help you see how each area compares and if your wheel appears balanced
5️⃣ take action!
consider what's working well in each area, and ask yourself which segment you feel is most out of balance. journal/brainstorm ways to improve that area of your life
some journal prompts for after you finish ⤵️
- why don’t i feel like i’m at a 10 in this area?
- what’ve i been doing to put me at a 10 in this area?
- what do i feel like is missing from this area?
- is there anything specific holding me back here?
- if it were perfect, what would this area look like?
- who do i need to become to make this area a 10?
- what are 3 reasonable and actionable steps i can take to improve in this area?
