hostel for the girly pops 💅🏼

to clarify this is not a women's only hostel (there were definitely guys staying there!) but the facilities and rooms are so girly pop coded I absolutely love it 💕

starting with the PROS 😍

🫶 free breakfast! there's free breakfast every morning from 8am to 2pm, and you get to choose from about 5 breakfast options. I got the dragon fruit smoothie bowl which was gorgeous and refreshing. other options included croissants, pancakes and a banana based smoothie bowl.

🫶 free yoga! there was free yoga every morning at 8am. I didn't go for yoga so I can't attest to how good it was, but if you're an early riser, this would be such a nice way to start your day

🫶 free dinner! free buffet style dinner every night from 7pm. the dinner was a bit cold by the time we got there at 8pm, but I think this was mainly a chance to meet other people staying at the hostel, chat and make friends.

🫶 free water! this is Bali, so you absolutely cannot drink tap water. there was a water cooler in the dining area of the hostel, which meant we didn't have to constantly buy big bottles of water from the convenience store.

🫶 free massage! so many free things in this hostel haha. you get a coupon for a 15 min massage for every night you stay. I stayed 3 nights so I got a nice 45 min massage that I booked for after climbing mt batur. it was so nice and relaxing 😎

🫶 rooms are pretty. I got a private room and the bed was huge and comfy. giant mirror on the wall next to the bed for vibes and taking ootds. and there was also a mirror with the lights for more cute photos. generally the room had a very resorty vibe to it

🫶 room facilities are almost hotel-like. there was a mini fridge with free soft drinks and water inside, some coffee and tea packets, a TV, a kettle, toothbrushes with toothpaste, and even robes in the room.

🫶 great location! there was a convenience store near the hostel (perfect for our late night indomie since we had the kettle), restaurants and small independent shops nearby too. It was also less than 10 mins (by grabbike) away from popular attractions like the Ubud Art Market and the palace.

🫶 friendly staff! the staff were super friendly and helpful. some of them would hang out during breakfast / dinner times to chat as well, and they were very helpful when our door had issues locking.

now for the CONS

😢 toilet was a little dank. I didn't take any pictures but the toilet in our room felt a little run down compared to the rest of the room. it was dim, the mirror had black marks around it, and the tiles on the wall were peeling.

😢 lock issues. this might just be us but we had serious issues trying to lock our door on one of the days. we tried for 20 mins before giving up and calling the staff for help, and the guy needed to call another guy for backup. it was eventually fixed, and thankfully we were just on our way to the hostel dinner when this happened. if it happened when we were in a rush, it would have been a really stressful time.

😢 the bag system if you're staying in the dorms is kinda weird. we heard from other folks that if you stay in the dorms, you can't bring your large bags into the dorm rooms, and have to leave them at the main reception area locked up. so you'd have to take out the stuff you need when you go to the dorms. apparently it's to prevent beg bugs from transferring from bags to the beds, but I can imagine it would be quite troublesome.

I really liked the place overall! It's one of the better reviewed hostels in ubud, and they have so many opportunities for socializing if that's something you're looking for. price is on the higher side for a hostel, but there are the added perks of free breakfast, dinner, yoga and massage.
