I lost 50 pounds on my weight loss journey a few years ago and I had to start all over I would make a few changes.

🧘🏽‍♀️ Yoga: If I were restarting my weight loss journey I would still do yoga about five times a week. It was one of the main factors in my weight loss journey. It taught me consistency, it allowed the passion inside of me to come to life, helped with discipline, and of course it helped tone my body. Yoga can also help balance your hormones and help reduce cramps around your period. Starting a new sport can be challenging but you are more capable than you think you are. The best advice I can give is to find a sport that you actually enjoy, if you don’t enjoy it you won’t stick with it. When I found hot yoga I fell in love and my life was forever changed. I always thought that I just wasn’t athletic and that I was doomed until I found hot yoga.

🥗Eat more leafy greens: I would diversify my meals and add more greens with every meal. In the beginning of my weight loss journey I was not the biggest fan of greens I felt like salads were too “diety” and wanted every other vegetable but that.

Leafy greens such as spinach and kale are also good sources of iron, which is important for preventing anemia. Women often require higher iron intake because of menstrual blood loss. Leafy greens are also high in fiber, which helps with digestion, gut health, and helping you to feel full.

They are also low in calories and high in water content making it another great way to increase your water intake.

🏌🏽‍♀️I would diversify my workouts and add in other workouts that bring me joy. I just started getting good at golf and I am loving it. Other sports you can try are kickboxing, running, pilates, or whatever brings your body joy. I love group classes because they help you feel a sense of community everyone in the room is working towards a common goal and it helps you to feel so empowered and motivated to keep on pushing.

✨I would make more healthy snacks instead of depriving myself of sweets in the beginning of my weight loss journey. These apple nachos are so simple as very delicious. All you need is an apple, mini chocolate chips, and peanut butter. Melt the chocolate and peanut butter, drizzle it over top of your apple slices, and enjoy!
